Matthew Modine (1959) hails from a big family and has six siblings. His father used to run drive- in theaters and they lived in Utah for several years. When the land beneath drive –in theaters exceeded value of the theaters, they were torn down and family moved to California. Matthew graduated at Mar Vista High School and then moved to New York City, to pursue his interest in artistic life. He often played young American soldiers fighting in Vietnam, not only in Robert Altman´s film Streamers, for which he and his mate shared the accolade on Venezia Film Festival or Alan Parker´s Birdy where he excelled with young Nicolas Cage. He refused to star in Top Gun, which brought fame to Tom Cruise but his moment came when playing Private Joker in famous Stanley Kubrick movie Full Metal Jacket.Then he depicted airman in Memphis Belle and to avoid labelling he often changed film genres and also played in theatre. He is intrepid ecological activist and he does care what happens around him. He must be a fine and nice man since we sent him questions for interview and he duly returned them month later.

Son of legendary film maker Ingmar Bergman made a flying visit to Zlín film festival.His schedule was packed but he still found some time for us. It was difficult not to ask him questions about his father but what Daniel revealed about his current attitude and profession was also very interesting and surprising.

Christian Dyekjaer is Danish filmmaker born on 5.6.1971 in town Gentofte.He started his career in 1998 when directing TV serie called“ Hvide logne“.Two years later he again directed TV serie „ Hotellet“. His feature film came in 2002 and was called „ John or Mia“.Then came another TV movie called „ Snart kommer tiden“.It was somewhat a rule that Christian made films always in even years.

Steve Lichatg was born on 4.3.1954 in Znojmo as Zdeněk Loveček.He attended Conservatoire for literature and drama in Brno and acquired first theatre experience in Karlovy Vary, Prague and Jihlava. Soon he also found a job in front of the camera and played in TV series Pan Tau and in films Od zítřka nečaruji, Holky z porcelánu, Kvočny a král and others. In 1979 he emigrated to USA, taught acting among other jobs and started to devote his time to production of documentary films. In 1988 he made his first document called Quo vadis Cambodia, after which followed TV serie Sibiř-země žalu. země naděje about gulags in Siberia.Later he fell in love with oceans and seas and started to make documentaries about sharks, whales and whalers. In 2013 he made his first 3D film Aldabra, byl jednou jeden ostrov, which was dubbed for Canadian and American market by Pierce Brosnan. His books Čekání na bílou smrt and Tanec modrých andělů became bestsellers. In 2004 he established an international film festival Voda-moře-oceány, he became a president of project Crystal Planet, while we met him as president of international film festival Příběhy Země 2017.After his 2 hours long show he sat with us for over half and hour in Prague cinema Dlabačov. Steve Lichtag is very nice and interesting person who could entertain us with his stories whole evening.

Well known and respected Polish director Agnieszka Holland was a star guest of FebioFest 2017.She has fans on both sides of Atlantic and is signed under such films as Europe, Europe, Burning Bush or Angry Harvest.In Prague she introduced her brand new film “Spoor” starring Czech actor Miroslav Krobot .Director, who will celebrate her 70th birthday next year was very swift and witty so time spent with her was very pleasant. With impish smile accompanied with Churchill´s “ V” signs she announced that she got Doctorate at Prague Film university so we should address her as “ Doctor”.
