Irish director Frank Berry was a guest of Zlín film festival 2015 where he introduced his brand new film “ I used to live here”.Since we don´t know much about Irish film and the topic of his film was interesting, we asked him for interview.He was very supportive and pleased with our interest which showed in his answers.

John Carpenter (1948) made many films on the field of horror and sci fi between 1970- 1980 which became cult movies and influenced many other film makers. He not only wrote screenplays, directed and produced films, he also edited them and produced music.His love for films can go back to his childhood when he was hooked by low budget horrors made in mid 50´s.

One of the most interesting guests of Letní filmová škola in Uherské Hradiště was Canadian storyboarder of Dutch origin, living in Prague, young Kurt van der Basch.He was there only for one day since the following one he flew to London for film commitment, but devoted his time fully to the fans. Firstly he led four hours workshop and then introduced the exhibition of his storyboards. Some of them were seen for the first time, thanks to kindness of Star Wars director J.J. Abrams who gave a blessing for their exhibition. Since we never talked to someone of such profession we asked Kurt some questions which he duly replied.

Jiří Strach (1973) is well respected and versatile Czech director who can direct well either: war movie, drama, fairy tale or comedy. Former young film star swapped his position from “in front” of the camera to “behind” the camera but from time to time, he put on “actors´ hat” either in his own movie or in some mates´ ones. We met him again at Zlín film festival 2016 and we talked to him for length. It was pleasant, friendly talk which had two layers- the professional one and human one.

Every film fan surely saw“ Aliens“ or“ Terminator“ and spotted handsome bloke helping and protecting Sigourney Weaver and Linda Hamilton .That was Michael Biehn (born 31.7.1956) who celebrates 60th birthday this year. We thought it would be good idea to make interview with him and ask him and hid wife, actress and business partner Jennifer Blanc about their careers and their company „ Blanc- Biehn Production“.We didn´t give it much home BUT within few hours reply“ Yes, we are interested“ came back. We were connected with their assistant Kurk Kasparian who was very helpfull middle man and thanks to him and of course kindness of Mrs. And Mrs Biehn you can read following lines.

Jennifer Blanc (born 21.4.1974) is not much known to Czech audience so this is good chance to put her in shop window.At the age of 13 she acted on Broadway and after moving to LA she became a star of a serie „ Hull High“.She acted in many TV series and films and joined forces with her partner Michael Biehn and produced and acted in film like „ The Divide“ and „The Victim“.She acted alongside the like of Danny de Vito.She also made her directing debut with film „ The Night visitor“.She is certainly actress to watch.
