 Jack Gold is British film and television director. He was born on 28. 6. 1930. After leaving University College London he began his career on BBC program „Tonight“. Later on he became a freelance filmmaker and also made dramas as a platform for his observations on social and political field. He made a debut with feature film in 1965 and it was called „My father knew Lloyd George“. But his most known films are „Aces high“, „The Medusa touch“ and „Escape from Sobibor“. He also directed versions of Shakespare classic „Mackbeth“ and „The Merchant of Venice“. He worked with such stars as Gene Hackman, Glenn Close, Anthony Hopkins, Malcolm McDowell, Richard Burton, Lino Ventura, Lee Remick or Elliot Gould.

On autumn festival Cinema Open 2014 debut making director Slobodanka Radum showed in preview her film MY2.This welcome guest was unknown figure for us so we of couse asked her for interview. Answers came within two weeks despite her having busy schedule with premiere of her film in cinemas.

 

Petr Jákl sr. can say that everything he touched turned into gold.He was succesfull student, graduated on two universities.He represented Czechoslovakia in judo, was Academic Europan Champion in 1964, got bronze medal on Academic World Championship.On Olympic Games in 1972 he finished 7th and 13x was Czech national champion.He became one of our first and best stuntman, acted in hundreds of films and at the present time he is successful producer.He showed great respect for burnt airmen in WWII“ The Guinea Pigs“ and really liked the documentary which Unitedfilm made about František Truhlář, one of the Czech bravest airmen burnt twice during the war.One doesn´t see this very often in merciless film business. We showed an interest in making the interview with him which he duly did.

World wide known writer, illustrator and director of animated film Pet Sís, who has been living in New York for past 3 decades looks more like a rocker then book writer.Although we met each other at Zlín film festival for the first time in our life, he was so open, friendly and direct that it looked as if old friends met again after many many years.

Director, screenwriter, actor and producer Paul Weitz was born on 19.11.1969. He is 4 years older to his  brother Chris.He grew up in New York Ciry, attended The Allen-Stevenson School and graduated from Westeyan University. It was here where he wrote his „ Mango Tea“ which was performed off-Broadway.He gained his fame with animation called „ Antz“ which he worked upon with Chris and Todd Alcott.Both brothers gained even more success with comedy smash hit American Pie“. Paul directed „About a Boy“ for which they received Academy Award  nomination for Best Adapted screenplay. Paul is also credited for directing romantic comedy „ In good company“ and political satire „ American dreamz“.
