The book offers readers information about existence of indie film in the world, about state film support in different countries. We ask artists if effort and creativity can match or surpass pure professionalism, if film education is really a must for getting a film job. 

We bring artist´s opinions at the fact how much does big budget restricts creative freedom and we also show about hard way of indie film to the audience. We ask question if the critics should be listened or completely ignored. 

We bring the look onto work with artist in backstage and let experts talk about importance of a good script. Hollywood producer Pancho Kohner talks us through financing the American films.

The book is filled with photos and autographs of the artists involved in the book and brings tributes to people who started from scratch and got on top, thanks to their creativity and effort: Charlie Chaplin, Jiří Menzel, Stanley Kubrick, Roger Corman, Kirk Douglas, Clint Eastwood and James Cameron.

How to order?

We accept payment by credit card using an online 3D-Secure system (a system of VISA and EC-MC associations). The card information is not provided to us, it is transmitted by an encrypted SSL channel directly to the bank.

Our packages are always delivered by the Czech Post. There are two ways of delivery - Priority mail (faster, usually more expensive) - which takes about 4 (Europe) – 7 (outside Europe) days, and Standard mail (usually cheaper but slower) - which takes about 7 (Europe) – 90(outside Europe) days. Priority mail can be quite expensive for customers outside Europe therefore we highly recommend using Standard mail.

If there are any problems with the books you’ve ordered they can be sent back directly to us. We accept returns and will gladly exchange the books for you. Items must be returned in their original condition; shrink-wrapped products must be unopened.
